After several hours of pulling my hair out trying to find a viable option for creating custom order statuses and enabling those statuses to be seen in the Bulk Editor for easily updating statuses for a large number of orders simultaneously, I finally landed on a solution.
Though creating custom order statuses is pretty simple with just a bit of code in your functions.php child theme file, being able to bulk edit those custom order statuses is where I got hung up.
I wanted a plug-in that made it easy to both create the order statuses and call them in the Bulk Edit section of woo-commerce so I can transfer over current orders to the new status.
The plug-in Custom Order Status Manager by Bright Plugins did exactly that with no other fluff.
As I write, I am currently in the process of bulk-editing my client’s sites orders to their new custom order status and thankfully for the free plug-in solution that stopped me from going insane.
